Quick prototyping--in early stage of product design, the designer may need samples to validate design process while reluctant to commit to the hard tooling investment. By using NCT punching process, we can quickly make samples--normal lead time is 3 days if no soft tooling needed.

For high mix low volume parts, it may not be  cost effective to develop hard tooling. Using NCT punching process can meet the flexible delivery demand.

For some big parts, the tooling cost will be very expensive. It's more economic to make the parts by NCT process.

NCT process also will be used in some circumstances while normal press process can not meet. For example, the high-density filters, which have thousands of holes laid out in limited area.
